Connie, Owner and Creative Director of Jay Andrews Salon and Spa, realizes her dream every day when she steps into either Jay Andrews Salon locations. With the overwhelming success of the first location in Beaver Creek Commons, Connie opened the second location in Park West Village in Morrisville in 2012. Connie takes the opportunity seriously and with utmost professionalism when it comes to meeting the beauty needs of her guests. She holds B.S. degrees in health, psychology, and education from East Carolina University where she played intercollegiate sports and lettered in Division I basketball. The passion, dedication, work ethic, and life balance required as a college athlete are traits Connie has used daily across over 15 years as a stylist.
Connie enjoys teaching others about her craft as well, and it’s not unusual for her to have a new apprentice learning from her during any part of the styling process. She is passionate about having the opportunity to use her talents and creativity in a way that enables her clients to feel beautiful, and she also feels strongly about giving back to the community. Connie often donates her services by visiting critically ill cancer patients in their own homes as well as providing pink ribbons to raise awareness for breast cancer, supporting St. Baldrick’s, a charity searching for cures for childhood cancers, and raising funds for Multiple Sclerosis research – and others that are near to her heart. She can even be seen at the Ronald McDonald House on Mother’s Day, donating her time by cutting hair for mothers of sick children. Connie says, “It’s giving back…or paying it forward, whichever way you want to look at it – that’s what is meaningful to me.”
